Elche vs Almeria: prediction for the La Liga fixture

In the previous season Elche put up a strong performance in Copa del Rey. Team played well in first rounds, but eventually got eliminated in round of 16 - hosts were stopped by Real Madrid. In 38 rounds of La Liga the Green-striped ones have recorded 11 victories and nine draws, delivering 39 points and a 15th spot in the standings. Team put up a weak offensive performance, scoring only 40 goals.

During the summer, club signed Ezequiel Ponce from Spartak Moscow for 4 million euros and Roger Mati for 3 million. Hosts started the new La Liga season with a 0:3 defeat to Betis. 

In the previous season Almeria satisfied their fans achieved a promotion back to La Liga after a seven-year absence - team got relegated in 2015. In 42 rounds the Red-Whites have recorded 24 victories and nine draws, delivering 81 points and a top spot in the standings. Team put up the best defensive performance in the league, conceding only 35 goals. 

Team also showed an impressive display in Copa del Rey. Visitors coasted past the first rounds, but got eliminated by their today's opponents, Elche. During the off-season club signed Kaiky from Santos for 7 million euros, Alejandro Pozo from Sevilla for 3 million and Marko Milovanovic from Partizan for 3,5 million euros.
