Kyrgios vs Tsitsipas: prediction for the Halle Open match

Nick Kyrgios takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Round of 16 of the 2022 Halle Open. Who will progress to the last eight? Here's our prediction.

Nick Kyrgios

Nick Kyrgios had a confident start to the grass part of the tour. Last week, the Australian tennis player reached the semifinals of the Stuttgart Open, where he was stopped by Andy Murray (6-7, 2-6). In the opening round of the current tournament, Kyrgios celebrated success over Daniel Altmeier in two straight sets (6-3, 7-5).

Stefanos Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas also played at the tournament in Stuttgart last week. He left the competition after losing to the same Andy Murray in straight sets in the quarterfinal match (6-7, 3-6). The Greek athlete was off to a rocky start at the Halle Open. In the first round, Tsitsipas surrended a set to Benjamin Bonzi (7-6, 1-6, 6-3).

Prediction

Kyrgios loves to play against the top-10, so we don't doubt that he will give his best performance. His chances of beating Tsitsipas appear to be very good, since the Greek doesn't feel confident on grass courts.

Kyrgios and Tsitsipas have met three times. There were two long battles between the athletes, and we suspect that the upcoming one will be no different. The over looks good.
