Chelsea vs Wolverhampton: prediction for the English Premier League match

Chelsea had a solid performance at the Champions League group stage and celebrated success over LOSC Lille in the last 16. However, the current trophy holders lost to Real Madrid in the quarterfinal match. 

The Blues were the runners-up in the League Cup - in the final, they lost to Liverpool on penalties. The team has a chance to avenge that defeat - Chelsea and Liverpool will face off again in the FA Cup final next weekend.

Chelsea are 3rd on the log with 66 points from 34 games. They need to be careful if they want to retain this position, because Arsenal are just three points behind. After a victory over West Ham (1:0), Thomas Tuchel's men drew against Manchester United (1:1) and lost at Everton (0:1). The Blues have the third-best attacking record in the league - they have scored 68 goals this season.

Wolverhampton failed to deliver good results in the domestic cups this season. They only managed to beat Sheffield United (3:0) in their first FA Cup game, but in the following round the Wolves lost to Norwich City (0:1). 

Bruno Lage's men hope to snatch a last-minute ticket to Europe. After 34 rounds of the Premier League, they are in 8th place in the table, just three points behind the European club competition zone.

After a 2:1 victory over Aston Villa, the Wanderers suffered three defeats in a row. The team has been unimpressive in attack, but has the best defense outside the top-3.
