Rayo Vallecano vs Valencia: prediction for the La Liga match

Rayo Vallecano got off to a wonderful start in the current La Liga season after a return from Segunda. In the first half of the season team performed well and achieved impressive results, but failed to maintain that level of form for a long time. Team also had a successful start in the Spanish Cup, Vallecans went past first stages quite easily, beating Gijuelo (2:1, pens), Bergantinos (3:1), Mirandes (1:0) and Girona (2:1). In the semi-final of that competition Madrid team failed to beat Betis. 

After 29 rounds of the current La Liga season team has nine victories and six draws, delivering 33 points and a 13th spot in the standings. Team's offensive line is looking weak, only 31 goals were scored in the current season. 

In two latest rounds the Red Sashes were beaten by Atletico (0:1) and drew to Granada (2:2). 

Merquelanz, Saveljic, Comesana and Falcao won't feature in the upcoming match. 

Valencia got off to a fair start in the Spanish Cup, easily beating third- and four-tier teams in first rounds of that competition. In later stages The Oranges managed to beat Cartagena and Cadiz. 

In the semi-final Pep Bordalas' men managed to beat one of the main favourites of that tournament, Athletic Bilbao, by a 2:1 score on aggregate. 

After 30 rounds of the current La Liga season Valencians have 10 victories and 11 draws, delivering 41 points and a 9th spot in the standings. Visitors' offensive line is looking great, 41 goals were scored in the current season. After a victory over Elche (1:0) Valencia drew to Cadiz at home (0:0).
