Stuttgart got off to a weak start of the season - since the first rounds Pellegrino Matarazzo's team started to lose points regularly. In the first half of the season the Swabians were unable to fix the situation - they got stuck in the lower half of the standings, sometimes even slipping to the relegation zone, but eventually team's performance improved. 

The Swabians managed to step up in the crucial part of the season - they launched their unbeaten run in the Week 25, beating Borussia Monchengladbach (3:2). After that Stuttgart also managed to beat Augsburg, drew to Union (1:1) and Arminia (1:1). Now Swabians are at the 15th spot in the standings, but they are still only one point clear of the relegation zone. 

Borussia got off to a decent start of the season - Marco Rose's team made some mistakes, but managed to avoid a serious crisis. The Bumblebees tried to put pressure on Bayern throughout the whole first half of the season and didn't let the favourite to build a serious handicap.

Borussia are still chasing Bayern, but the Yellows don't have too many chances for success - Bumblebees dropped way too many points. Borussia got only one point out of two latest matches against Koln (1:1) and Leipzig (1:4), team is now nine points adrift from the leader.
