The Islandersare in 11th place in the Eastern Conference table and recently have been strengthening their standings. However, they struggle to mount a winning streak. For example, the Islanders beat Philadelphia (4:3), but in the following match they were defeated by Los Angeles (2:3). The hosts often can't convert their scoring chances, but they have significantly improved their defensive play. 

The Islanders have no chance of qualifying for the playoffs this season, even though they have eight games in hand - Barry Trotz's men are 24 points behind the Rangers.

For almost the entire season, Seattle were occupying one of the last lines in the Western Conference table. This is a predictable result for an NHL newby. The Kraken are inconsistent and often alternate between victories and defeats. Recently, they lost to St. Louis (0:5), then defeated Florida (5:3), and yielded to Nashville (2:4) before prevailing over Pittsburgh in overtime (2:1 OT).

In general, the Kraken aren't very successful on their travels. They won only four games in regulation away. On average, Seattle concede three or four goals per game.
