Garbine Muguruza vs Anett Kontaveit. Predictions and Betting Tips for WTA Finals

Before the start of Guadalajara tournament Garbine Muguruza was not considered a favourite of the competition. Moreover, Spanish player started the tournament with a defeat to Karolina Pliskova (6:4, 2:6, 6:7). 

Nonetheless, an experienced Spanish player managed to step up and won two next matches of the group stage. She recorded a victory over Barbora Krejcikova in three sets (2:6, 6:3, 6:4). In the decisive match for the semi-final spot Muguruza broke Kontaveit's 12-match winning streak (6:4, 6:4).

In the semi-final Muguruza was not considered a favourite in the match against her compatriot, Paula Badosa. But Muguruza put up an outstanding performance and recorded a 6:3, 6:3 victory. Her opponent had only three break-points throughout the match and couldn't convert any of them. 

Anett Kontaveit approached the start of Guadalajara tournament after titles at Moscow and Cluj-Napoca. In two first matches at Mexico Estonian player proved that she didn't lost her form. 

After victories over Barbora Krejcikova (6:3, 6:4) and Karolina Pliskova (6:4, 6:0) Kontaveit earned a semi-final spot. A closing match of the group stage against Garbine Muguruza was just a formality for Kontaveit. Lack of motivation surely affected her performance (4:6, 4:6).

In the semi-final match against Sakkari Kontaveit failed to retain the same level of performance throughout the whole match. Moreover, after a set exchange Kontaveit was behind in the decisive set, losing the game at her serve. But when the score was at 2:3 Kontaveit managed to come back into the game and won four games in a row (6:1, 3:6, 6:3).
