Moscow tournament is the first one for Aryna Sabalenka after her positive coronavirus test, which forced her to sit out for a month. First match against Ajla Tomljanovic was a difficult one. Lack of match practice affected Sabalenka's performance, especially in the first set.

But in her second attempt Alexandrova managed to win the game at her serve and didn't let Kalinina to come back into the game. In the second set Ukrainian player was unable to fight (6:4, 6:1).
