Rybakina vs Vondrousova: prediction for the WTA Kremlin Cup match

Elena Rybakina is approaching the Kremlin Cup in a bad mood. At recent Indian Wells tournament Kazakhstani player suffered a defeat to Yulia Putintseva (2:6, 6:7) in the first round. Before that defeat Rybakina always won at least two matches in four consecutive tournaments.

Rybakina will play at Moscow tournament for the third time in her career. In 2017 she failed to advance past the first round, in 2018 she was eliminated in the qualifying round. In the current season Rybakina played three matches on indoor courts and recorded two victories. All of those fixtures were held at Ostrava. 

Throughout the entire season Marketa Vondrousova is performing inconsistently. Czech player can put up a brilliant performance in one tournament, for example, at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, where she won a silver medal, but then she can completely fail the next competition, losing to a lower-ranked opponent.

After semi-finals of Luxembourg and Chicago tournaments Vondrousova suddenly went down to Viktorija Golubic (1:6, 6:4, 3:6) in the first round of Indian Wells tournament. Since the start of the year Vondrousova recorded three victories and suffered one defeat on indoor courts, all of those matches were held at Luxembourg. It is the first Moscow tournament in Vondrousova's career.
