Montreal vs Toronto: prediction for the NHL Preseason match

In the offseason, the Montreal Canadiens said goodbye to such great players as Corey Perry, Tomas Tatar, and Gustav Olofsson. This can seriously affect the attacking potential of the team in the new season of NHL. On the other hand, Mike Hoffman and Mathieu Perreault have moved to Montreal from Winnipeg.

The Canadiens lost the first game against the Maple Leafs with a score of 1:4. Tyler Toffoli scored the only goal for Montreal. In general, Dominique Ducharme's men did not look convincing and could not create enough scoring chances; they made only 17 shots against Toronto. 

The Toronto Maple Leafs have great ambitions, and they always aim to get into the playoffs from the first lines. Last season was not very successful for the Maple Leafs, as they were eliminated in the Round of 16, losing the series to Montreal.

Toronto managed to keep the core of the team. Goaltenders Rittich and Andersen left the team and experienced Petr Mrazek will now become the main goaltender for the Maple Leafs. In the first game against Montreal, John Tavares scored a goal, and William Nylander gave two assists.
