Samsonova vs Ostapenko: prediction for the WTA Luxembourg match

After a successful performance on the grass Liudmila Samsonova's performance went downhill. She is not experienced enough to maintain herself in a good form for a long time. At North American hard tournaments Russian player won only two matches in the main draw.

But a transition to the Luxembourg indoor court improved Samsonova's results. In three matches of that tournament she didn't lose a single set to her opponents. In the quarter-final she recorded a victory over the Olympic champion, Belinda Bencic (6:1, 6:4). 

A tournament at Luxembourg is a special one for Jelena Ostapenko. She participated here only once, in 2019, and she won a title. Latvian player surely wants to repeat that success. 

In first two rounds Ostapenko had easy opponents, Niemeier and Hartono. After those matches Ostapenko managed to find her game. In the quarter-final she recorded a victory in straight sets over Alize Cornet (7:6, 6:2). Frenchwoman had only two break-points in that match, Ostapenko won 67% of points at her serve.
