Pliskova vs Sakkari: prediction for the US Open match

One year ago Karolina Pliskova completely failed at US Open, she was eliminated in the second round by Garcia (1:6, 6:7). Czech player approached the current New York tournament in a great form and reached the quarter-final without any problems. 

Second round match against Anisimova was the most difficult one for Pliskova. She managed to snatch a victory on a tiebreak in the decisive set (7:5, 6:7, 7:6). In two most recent matches Pliskova didn't lose a single set to Ajla Tomljanovic (6:3, 6:2) and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (7:5, 6:4). Pliskova plays very accurate on her serve throughout the whole tournament. 

Maria Sakkari improved her result at US Open. In the previous edition of the tournament Greek player reached the round of 16, where she was beaten by Serena Williams (3:6, 7:6, 3:6).

In 2021 edition of that competition Sakkari already won four matches, despite a difficult draw since the first round. She played the first match against Marta Kostyuk (6:4, 6:3). After that she beat two strong Czech players, Siniakova (6:4, 6:2) and Kvitova (6:4, 6:3).

The most difficult match for the Greek player was played in the round of 16, where she managed to beat Bianca Andreescu, the champion of 2019 US Open. Players exchanged sets on tiebreaks, but Sakkari played better in the third set (6:7, 7:6, 6:3).
