Elina Svitolina vs Leylah Fernandez. Predictions and Betting Tips for WTA US Open

Elina Svitolina is only one step away from repeating of her 2019 US Open result. Back then, Ukrainian player reached the semi-final and was beaten by Serena Williams (3:6, 1:6). Svitolina is currently on a winning streak consisting of nine matches, she won a title at Chicago and after elimination of the main favourites she also has a chance to fight for a trophy in New York.

She won all four matches in New York without losing a single set. Victories over Marino and Masarova were not surprising at all, but successful matches against Kasatkina and Halep proved that the World No. 5 player is in a wonderful form now. She beat Kasatkina with a 6:4, 6:2 score and then defeated Halep with a 6:3, 6:3 score. 

In the match against the Russian player Svitolina didn't lose a single game on her serve, but Romanian player made two breaks. In each of those matches Svitolina made only 14 unforced errors.  

Leylah Fernandez, along with Emma Raducanu, became the main sensation of the current US Open tournament. Canadian player won four matches at New York, she was considered an underdog in three of those matches.

In two most recent matches Fernandez beat the current holder of US Open title, Naomi Osaka (5:7, 6:4, 6:4), and a former World No. 1 player, Angelique Kerber (4:6, 7:6, 6:2). In both of those matches Canadian player lost the first set, but then managed to mount a comeback.

Now she is approaching another difficult match, she will face Elina Svitolina. One year ago Fernandez failed to beat her opponent  in hard tournament at Monterrey, but managed to put up a fight (4:6, 5:7).
