Djokovic vs Nishikori: no chance for Nishikori?

Djokovic has come to New York to win his fourth Grand Slam trophy this year. So far he has had no difficulties. Djokovic first passed Holger Rune  (6-1, 6-7, 6-2, 6-1), then ousted Tallon Griekspoor (6-2, 6-3, 6-2). We remember that Djokovic failed to win the Olympic medal in Tokyo earlier this summer: in the semifinals, he lost to Alexander Zverev (6-1, 3-6, 1-6), and was defeated by Carreno Busta in the battle for bronze (4-6, 7-6, 3-6). But Djokovic doesn't let the failures of the past distract him from the future goal.

Nishikori is obviously unhappy that he has to take on Djokovic at such an early stage of the tournament. Djokovic is considered the least comfortable opponent for Nishikori: the Japanese tennis player has lost to Djokovic 17 times and won in only two matches. Nishikori's path to the Round of 32 wasn't easy. The Japanese athlete lost one set to Salvatore Caruso (6-1, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3), and then had a thriller of a match against Mackenzie McDonald. In the end, Nishikori defeated McDonald in five sets (7-6, 6-3, 6-7, 2-6, 6-3).
