Marseille vs Saint-Etienne: bet on the favourite?

In the previous season Marseille secured the fifth spot in the standings. Team got off to a great start, but slowed down towards the finish and eventually finished the season with 60 points and claimed a Europa League spot. During the summer club appointed Jorge Sampaoli on head coach position and signed Gerson from Flamengo for 25 million euros.

In the first match of the season Provencals recorded a victory in a close match against Montpellier (3:2), but then dropped points in a home match against Bordeaux (2:2). White-Blues are approaching the third round on an 8th position in the league.

Milik will be unavailable for this match due to a knee injury, Lopez is isolated due to coronavirus.

Fans of Saint-Etienne had high expectations for the previous season - team put up an inconsistent performance and finished the season at the lower part of the table. Start of the new season was unsuccessful as well. In the first round Claude Puel's men had a draw against Lorient (1:1) and then put up the same result against Lens (2:2).

In the third round Saints played against the champion. Greens conceded a goal in the first goal, but Saw scored an equalizer five minutes before the final whistle and bring the third consecutive draw to his team.
