Zenit vs CSKA: the central game of Matchday 6

Zenitstarted the season with a landslide victory over Lokomotiv in the Russian Super Cup match (3:0). The first fixtures of the Premier League also seemed easy to Sergei Semak and his charges. They won over Khimki (3:1) and Rostov (4:2) with no visible difficulty. The winning streak continued with a home win over Krasnodar (3:2). 

Zenit lost their first points in Moscow at Lokomotiv (1:1) and unexpectedly drew Ufa away with the same score (1:1). These results put Zenit on the second line in the standings, one point behind the current leader, Dynamo. 

CSKA are not in optimal shape, and they have made several mistakes at the start of the season. In the first round, the Army men won their first game under the leadership of Alexei Berezutsky: they beat Ufa at home (1:0). However, in that fixture, CSKA looked quite shaky. The fears of the fans were confirmed in the following two games: CSKA lost to Lokomotiv and Dynamo with the same score of 1:2.

But CSKA didn't descent into a crisis. They earned an important victory in Rostov (3:1), and in the last round, CSKA took three points in the match against Akhmat. The Army men couldn't do much against the Wolves before one of Akhmat's players was sent off, but after that, they scored two unanswered goals. At the moment, CSKA are fifth in the standings.
