Pliskova vs Teichmann: should we expect a sensation?

For the second week in a row Karolina Pliskova found a way into the semi-final of WTA tournament. In Montreal Czech player managed to advance into the final and then was beaten in the decisive match by Camila Giorgi (3:6, 5:7).

So far Pliskova is flawless at Cincinnati. In three matches she didn't lose a single set to her opponents, Putintseva, Pegula and Badosa. Match against Pegula was the most difficult one, but she managed to win a tiebreak in the second set (6:4, 7:6). In the quarter-final against Badosa first set was pretty contested, but during the second set her opponent left the match due to injury (7:5, 2:0). 

Jil Belen Teichmann became the main sensation of Cincinnati tournament. Player was not looking great throughout the whole season, but here, at USA, she managed to put up a great performance.

Teichmann won four matches here. In two most recent matches she made huge sensations, beating the World No. 2 Naomi Osaka (3:6, 6:3, 6:3) and the winner of Tokyo Olympic Games Belinda Bencic (6:3, 6:2). Jil Belen is currently in a great form, she is looking great at her serve, so we shouldn't underestimate the Swiss player.
