Lens vs Saint-Etienne: how to beat the Saints

In the previous season Lens not only retained the Ligue 1 spot as the debutant, but almost qualified for the European competition. In 38 rounds hosts recorded 15 victories and 12 draws, which brought 57 points and a seventh position. Team finished the season with a victory over Dijon (5:1), three defeats and a draw against Monaco (0:0).

Blood and Golds strengthened the squad during the off-season - they signed Kevin Danso from Augsburg for 5,5 million euros, Przemyslaw Frankowski from Chicago for 3 million euros and Gael Kakuta from Amiens for 5 million euros.

In the first match of the new Ligue 1 season Lens had a draw against Rennes (1:1).
