Rubin vs Krylia Sovetov: will Rubin keep their winning streak?

Rubin had a solid start. Leonid Slutsky's team won all three games, beating Spartak (1:0) in a difficult first round match, making quick work of Arsenal (3:0), and scoring a hard-earned victory over Akhmat (2:1). In the third round, the Wolves scored first, but then were left shorthanded, which the hosts took advantage of. 

Rubin suffered a defeat in the Conference League qualifying earlier this week. After a goalless draw in Poland, Kazan were the favourites in the return game. The regulation time once again finished without goals, and in extra time Rakuv scored the winner, eliminating Rubin from the competition.

Krylia Sovetov looked very confident in the FNL and were head and shoulders above their opponents. But once promoted, Igor Osinkin's team suffered three defeats in a row. The club from Samara lost to Akhmat (1:2) and Spartak (0:1) at home.

Krylia Sovetov didn't do a better job away. In the third round, they faced Arsenal Tula, who also are going through a rough patch. But Krylia lost to the Gunners (1:2) and occupied the last line of the standings.
