Elena-Gabriela Ruse is currently at the peak of her form. 23-year old Romanian player had two successful clay tournaments in July - at Hamburg and at Palermo. In Germany she won a title, beating Petkovic in the final (7:6, 6:4). In Italy Ruse managed to reach the final as well, but this time Romanian player was beaten in the decisive match by Collins (4:6, 2:6).

We should mention that Ruse is in a perfect physical condition. Due to her low position in the rankings she had to start Hamburg and Palermo tournaments from the qualification rounds. But she successfully endured that high number of matches. After Palermo she took a one-week break to recover. Now Elena-Gabriela will try to put up a strong performance on a home tournament at Cluj-Napoca.

Lesia Tsurenko is not impressing with her results and a level of performance. Since the start of the year Ukrainian player had 21 matches and secured 12 victories. But the most of those victories were recorded in qualification rounds of tournaments.

Tsurenko's most recent official match was played in Belgrade, where she was beaten in the first round by Ejkeri (3:6, 1:6). We should mention that Ukrainian player is currently struggling with her elbow and it is going on for a couple of years now. Because of that she had to withdrew herself from participation on the main draw of Wimbledon tournament, where she won three qualifying matches. She also had to withdraw from playing at Roland Garros because of injury.
