Belinda Bencic vs Marketa Vondrousova. Predictions and Betting Tips for Summer Olympics

Before the start of Olympic tournament Belinda Bencic was not considered a favourite of this competition. Moreover, Swiss player was an underdog in four out of five matches on her way to the final. But she managed to reach the final against all odds.

Only in first two rounds of Tokyo tournament Bencic managed to beat Pegula and Doi in straight sets. After she needed to play matches with three sets to get to the final.

In the third round of the Olympics Bencic recorded a comeback victory over the winner of 2021 Roland Garros Barbora Krejcikova (1:6, 6:2, 6:3). With that victory Belinda made a huge sensation.

In the semi-final she also managed to beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who was playing great on that tournament (6:0, 3:6, 6:3). Semi-final match against Elena Rybakina also was not easy. In the first set Bencic managed to comeback from a 2:5 score and then to come back in the game after a loss in the second set (7:6, 4:6, 6:3).

Marketa Vondrousova got to the Olympics, using the protected rankings. Doing so, she left another member of Czech women's national team Karolina Muchova out of the tournament. It was not a mistake though.

Czech player lost only one set on her way to the final, so she has a lot of energy left. It is a crucial factor, especially in such difficult weather conditions. That only set was lost by Marketa in the first round match against Kiki Bertens (6:4, 3:6, 6:4). 

After that Czech player managed to beat all of her opponents with a 2:0 score on sets. One of them was Naomi Osaka in the round of 16 (6:1, 6:4).

Semi-final match against Elina Svitolina was an easy one for Marketa (6:3, 6:1). Only in the beginning of first set there were signs of contest.
