Zidansek vs Burel: an unexpected final in Lausanne?

Tamara Zidansek rised to the Top-50 in 2021 and after a tournament in Lausanne she will secure her position. Before the start of Switzerland tournament Slovenian player had a final of Bogota tournament and the semi-final of Roland Garros. Both of those competitions were played on clay, which is the most successful surface for the player.

Zidansek's way to the final was not the easiest one. Slovenian player lost a set to the opponent two times. It happened in the first round against Melnikova (2:6, 6:3, 6:2) and in the quarter-final against Bronzetti (6:4, 4:6, 6:3). In the semi-final Tamara managed to defeat Zanevska in straight sets (7:5, 6:3).

A rising star of French tennis Clara Burel is finally starting to shine. In 2021 she reached the final of ITF tournaments three times, winning one title. Now she is in the final of more prestigious WTA 250 tournament.

On her way to the final Burel had only one easy opponent - Bandecchi in the first round (6:0, 6:2). Then she had to play against talented Russian player Rakhimova (1:6, 6:3, 6:3) and two compatriots, Ferro (7:5, 6:2) and Garcia (5:7, 6:2, 6:2). Clara left a lot of energy in those matches, but managed to overcome such a difficult set of matches.
