Brazil vs Peru: no chances for the outsider?

Over the past month, Brazil proved that they are the leader of South American football. On June 9, La Canarinha defeated Paraguay (2:0), which was the sixth victory in a row in the qualifications for the 2022 World Cup. Tite's charges lead the group, six points ahead of Argentina.

At Copa America, Brazil easily beat Venezuela (4:0), Peru (4:0), and Colombia (2:1). In the last round of the group stage, the Seleção drew Ecuador. Chile were defeated in the quarterfinal (1:0). Brazil opened the scoring only in the 46th minute, were one man down due to a red card, but still managed to keep the advantage and earned their victory. 

Peru had little success in the first qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup. So far, the Incas are in the last place in the group. At the start of this Copa America draw, they also were crushed by their today's opponent (0:4). But Peru managed to recover after such a blow and finished the group stage in the second line.

Ricardo Gareca's men defeated Colombia (2:1) and drew with Ecuador (2:2), and after that, they snatched a victory from Venezuela (1:0) in the decisive game. In the quarterfinals, the Incas gave a thrilling performance against Paraguay. It was a real cracker, and the winner was decided by a penalty shootout (3:3 FT, 4:3P).
