Over the past month, Brazil proved that they are the leader of South American football. On June 9, La Canarinha defeated Paraguay (2:0), which was the sixth victory in a row in the qualifications for the 2022 World Cup. Tite's charges lead the group, six points ahead of Argentina.

Ricardo Gareca's men defeated Colombia (2:1) and drew with Ecuador (2:2), and after that, they snatched a victory from Venezuela (1:0) in the decisive game. In the quarterfinals, the Incas gave a thrilling performance against Paraguay. It was a real cracker, and the winner was decided by a penalty shootout (3:3 FT, 4:3P).
