Berrettini is one of the favourites at Wimbledon this year. Before the start of the Major, Matteo had won the London Open. But we must admit, that he didn't have opponents from the Top 10 at that tournament, the highest-ranked counterpart being Alex De Minaur, whom Berrettini defeated with a score of 6-4, 6-4. And in the final, he dealt with Cameron Norrie (6-4, 6-7, 6-3).

Matteo won his first match at Wimbledon, but he had some difficulties, and he lost one of the sets to Guido Pella. However, this did not really affect the result (6-4, 3-6, 6-4, 6-0).

Van de Zandschulpis only 139th in the world rankings, so he did not make it directly to the main draw: the Dutch athlete had to play in qualification rounds. He won the first two matches, beating Paolo Lorenzi (7-5, 6-3) and Altug Celikbilek (6-2, 6-3). But in the final round, Botic lost to Marco Trungelliti (3-6, 6-4, 6-7, 5-7).

Despite that defeat, Van De Zandschulp made it to the main draw as the lucky loser. In the first round, he faced Gregoire Barrere. Botic beat the Frenchman in four sets (6-2, 6-7, 6-1, 7-6).
