Angelique Kerber's fans were tired of waiting their idol to succeed. Only after a transition to the grass German player finally started to show the performance that everybody was expecting from her. On the homeland tournament at Bad Homburg Angelique claimed a title, beating Katerina Siniakova in the final (6:3, 6:2).

Kerber extended her winning streak on the grass tournament at London. In the first round of competition Angelique claimed a confident victory over Stojanovic (6:4, 6:3). 

Sara Sorribes Tormo performed bad on the clay part of the season, winning only two matches on that surface. But a transition to the grass affected positively on the Spaniard's results. She reached the semi-final of Bad Homburg tournament.

In the first round of Wimbledon Sara played against dangerous opponent, Ana Konjuh. Bookmakers were not counting on the Spanish player, but she pulled off a victory in three sets (6:3, 3:6, 6:3). Sorribes Tormo shouldn't be underestimated on the grass, because she has a great record on that surface (19 wins and 14 defeats).
