Kerber vs Siniakova: who will win the first title of the season?

In 2021 Angelique Kerber put up a great performance only after a transition to the grass, she will play in the final of a home tournament at Bad Homburg.

German player recorded easy wins in the first two rounds over Yashina and Blinkova, each of her opponents claimed only two games. On Friday, June 25, Kerber had two play two matches in one day, against difficult opponents - Anisimova and Kvitova. Both matches were going on for three sets. In the semi-final against Kvitova the winner was decided only on tiebreak of the third set (3:6, 6:4, 7:6).

Before the start of Bad Homburg tournament no one thought that Katerina Siniakova will fight for the trophy, she was not considered a favourite in any prediction. But during that competition Czech player proved that she shouldn't be underestimated. 

In the first match Siniakova beat Gracheva, as everyone expected (6:3, 6:2). In the second round Katerina recorded a surprising victory over Jessica Pegula (6:3, 5:7, 6:4). In two Friday matches Czech player beat Siegemund (7:5, 6:4) and Sorribes Tormo (6:2, 6:4) respectively.

Now Katerina is approaching the match against an uncomfortable opponent. In this year Czech player already took one defeat from the Germany representative on hard surface (3:6, 6:4, 3:6). Throughout the whole career Siniakova lost four matches to Kerber and celebrated a victory only once.
