Angelique Kerber vs Anna Blinkova. Predictions and Betting Tips for WTA Bad Homburg

Throughout the whole season Angelique Kerber is trying to regain her usual level of performance. So far German player managed to advance past two rounds in the main draw only on two tournaments. It happened at the start of the season, at Melbourne tournament (she reached the quarter-final) and the other successful tournament was played on May, it was a clay competition at Rome.

In the previous week Angelique had a successful transition to the grass. In Berlin, Kerber secured a confident victory over Doi in straight sets (6:1, 6:2) and then succumbed to her uncomfortable opponent, Victoria Azarenka, in a contested match (3:6, 5:7). In Bad Homburg, Angelique once again secured an easy win over the low-ranked opponent, Yashina (6:1, 6:1). Now she has a good chance to advance into the quarter-final of home tournament. For that she only needs to beat a relatively unknown, low-ranked player, Anna Blinkova.

In 2021 Anna Blinkova is disappointing with her results. A 22-year old Russian player is on the verge of relegation from the Top-100 of WTA rankings, she is now at 90th position. Even with qualifying matches Anna won only eight fixtures with 12 losses on all tournaments. 

In the previous week Anna lost the first match of qualification for Berlin tournament to Minelle (5:7, 2:6). In Bad Homburg Anna started from the main draw. In a closely contested match she managed to snatch a win from Clara Tauson (7:6, 4:6, 6:2).
