Daniil Medvedev vs Jan-Lennard Struff. Prediction and Betting Tips for ATP Halle

Command Analysis

Medvedev had a not very successful performance on clay, which is somewhat of a tradition for the Russian. At Roland Garros, Daniil was knocked out in the quarterfinals, losing in three sets to Stefanos Tsitsipas. This result can actually be considered an achievement since recently Daniil said that he does not like playing on this surface, and has made some controversial comments, clearly showing his attitude towards clay.
Now Medvedev is starting his campaign on grass. Two years ago, Medvedev reached the third round of Wimbledon and also played in the semifinals of the London Open.

For Struff, the clay segment of the season was more successful. For example, the German played in the final of the tournament in Munich and also in the Round of 16 at Roland Garros. Thanks to these results, Jan-Lennard still holds his place in the top 50: he is currently ranked 42nd.
On grass, Struff has good results, but this is not his favourite surface. In 2019 Jan-Lennard was knocked out in the second round at Halle, losing in three sets to Karen Khachanov. But in Stuttgart, Jan-Lennard reached the semifinals.

Tip and bets
Struff regularly loses to the Russian. Jan-Lennard won his only victory over Daniil way back in 2016, at the Challenger in Mons. In the last three matches, Daniil confidently won. Moreover, in the two previous fixtures, he allowed the German to win no more than four games. We believe that Medvedev will get a landslide victory this time, too.
Our prediction is Medvedev to win with the handicap (-3)
In most of the head-to-head matches, the athletes played two sets. This match is unlikely to be an exception. Medvedev has a class advantage over Struff, and probably their face-off won't last very long.
Second prediction - total under 22.5 games
