It is the most successful Roland Garros tournament for Victoria Azarenka in last few years. We should mention that in previous three Paris tournaments Belarusian player failed to get past the second round. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova is on a wonderful form right now. After a slow start of the season Russian player improved her game and blossomed in Madrid. She reached the semi-final on that tournament. But Russian player still came out on top, after a set exchange she handed a bagel to Belarus representative in the decisive set (6:4, 2:6, 6:0).
Now Pavlyuchenkova is approaching another match against Belarusian player, this time it will be Azarenka. Nastya already played six matches against her, but won only one of those fixtures and only because her opponent left the match. But we should note that two matches on clay were extremely contested and Victoria won them with a margin of less than four games.
