USA vs Slovakia: will the Americans keep their winning streak?

The USA gave an excellent performance in their group, finishing first in the standings with a total of 18 points. The US national team was defeated only in the opening game by Finland (1:2), and the rest of the matches they won. They didn't crush any of their opponents, except for maybe Canada, who were defeated with a score of 5:1.

The top scorers Conor Garland and Jason Robertson demonstrate great skills. Jack Capuano's charges are currently the least-conceding team at the Championship so far, as they let their opponents score only eight times in seven games.

Slovakia can already consider this World Cup a big success because they reached the playoffs. The last time they were in the quarterfinal was back in 2012, back then the Slovaks even made it to the final. The Slovaks scored their three points in the games against the outsiders, but they also beat Russia (3:1). Slovakia also lost to Switzerland, Sweden, and the Czech Republic.

In the last game of the group stage, Craig Ramsay's men lost to the Czechs with a score of 3:7, and by the end of the second period, they have pretty much given up. In general, in games against strong opponents, Slovakia often can't use their attacking chances.
