Sweden vs Great Britain: a crushing defeat for the British?

Before the start of this World Championship, Sweden were considered one of the main contenders for the title. Now they risk not getting into the playoffs at all. At the moment, the Swedish team is on the last line of the standings and has only three points in the asset, which they earned with a victory over Switzerland (7:0).

However, right after they beat the Swiss team, Sweden were defeated by the Czech Republic. Before the start of the third period against the Czechs, everything was going according to the plan and Sweden were in the lead 2:0, but then they conceded unnecessary goals and allowed the opponent to equalize, ultimately losing 2:4.

Even Great Britain have more points than Sweden. The British are now in the sixth position in group B. However, everyone understands that this is temporary, and in the near future Great Britain will drop to the seventh or the eighth line. The British lost three games in a row, but created a sensation in the match against the Belarusians, winning 4:3 in regulation time.

Corey Neilson's men took advantage of their chances to score against Belarus and got a comfortable advantage in the score, which they just had to keep until the final siren. But in games against stronger rivals, the British have almost nothing to offer in attack or defense.
