Gauff vs Sabalenka: will Aryna keep winning?

After a failure at Madrid in last week, Cori Gauff managed to secure two wins at Rome tournament. Young American player recorded victories over Putintseva (7:5, 4:6, 6:4) and Sakkari (6:1, 1:6, 6:1).

Gauff's main weakness is her instability, which we always mention in our predictions. She won both matches at Rome only in three sets. She was lucky that both of her opponents were inconsistent as well. It's obvious that Gauff won't go far. Especially since her next match will be against Sabalenka, who is at her peak form.

After a win in the first match over Sorribes Tormo (7:5, 6:1) Belarusian player extended her winning streak to seven matches. On Saturday, May 8, Aryna Sabalenka won her second title this season, winning Ashleigh Barty in the final of Madrid Open (6:0, 3:6, 6:4).

Aryna's adaptation to Rome wasn't easy. Courts here are slower than in Madrid. In the first set of the match against Sorribes Tormo Belarusian player couldn't find her game right away. Only in the second set we saw the same player who shined in the Spanish capital.
