Ashleigh Barty vs Veronica Kudermetova. Predictions and Betting Tips for WTA Rome

Ashleigh Barty came to Rome after a loss in the final of Madrid tournament. At the Spanish capital World No. 1 lost the decisive match to Aryna Sabalenka (0:6, 6:3, 4:6).

In the new tournament, Barty had some problems in the starting match at the Italian capital. Her opponent was Yaroslava Shvedova, who is returning from the long pause in her career. In the beginning of the first set Ashleigh gave away a game on her serve and only towards the end of set managed to turn things around and did two breaks. She performed more confidently in the second set (6:4, 6:1), but still let her opponent to do break. Overall, Barty had a questionable performance. She's having a hard time playing on clay with that intense schedule.

Veronica Kudermetova also played at Madrid during last week. In that competition Russian player was eliminated by Petra Kvitova in the round of 16 (3:6, 6:4, 4:6).

At Rome Veronica also advanced to the round of 16. She achieved that by wins over Mertens (4:6, 6:2, 6:3) and Garcia (6:4, 6:4). She could have secured more confident victory over Frenchwoman, but experienced some problems in the second set. Overall, Russian player is in good shape now and won't leave the court without a fight.
