Lokomotiv vs Krylya Sovetov: should we expect a sensation?

Lokomotiv had a weak first half of the season - Marko Nikolic's side left a lot of energy in the Champions League, but it wasn't enough. Railwaymen left for a winter break on the lower part of the table and were looking bleak. But their game improved during the second part of the season and they are now fighting for the Champions League spot.

Loko is currently on the third spot of the standings and they have a slim chance for the Champions League spot - they are three points behind the second-placed Spartak. But there is possibility for Loko to drop from the European qualification zone altogether - fifth-placed Sochi is only one point behind.

In last game Lokomotiv had a goalless draw in the Moscow derby against Dinamo, which lowered their chances for the Eurocups.

Krylya Sovetov relegated from the Premier League at the end of the last season. But club from Samara had an obkective to climb back as soon as possible and they fulfilled that task perfectly. Igor Osinkin's side lived up to expectations as a favorite and had already guaranteed promotion back to the Premier League.

Krylya Sovetov is currently on top of the FNL standings with 98 points - runner-up Orenburg is eight points behind. In the Russian Cup Wings were drawn in the group with Rotor and Dinamo Stavropol, eventually, Krylya topped that group without any problems. After that Krylya eliminated Khimki (4:0), Dinamo (2:0) and finally beat Akhmat on penalties after a goalless draw in first 90 minutes.
