Perhaps, the Gunners spent too much energy in the match against Magpies, because the most important game of the season ended badly for them. Earlier this week Arsenal hosted Villarreal in the second leg of the semi-final of the Europa League. They couldn't use their chances and the game ended in a goalless draw. Defender Branislav Ivanovic is still injured, midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles can't play against Arsenal. Robert Snodgrass's appearance is doubtful.
