Toronto at the start of the season climbed to the first line of the standings and still remains the leader of the Northern Division. The team plays in series, and after five unsuccessful matches in a row, the Leafs managed to develop a winning streak, first beating Winnipeg twice (5:3 and 4:1), and then defeating Montreal - 4:1.

After defeating the Senators on their home ice (4:2), the Canucks went away, where they lost to the rival with the scores of 1:2 and 3:6. In general, Travis Green's team is unlucky in away games this season, since only in four out of 19 meetings they got an upper hand in regulation time.
