Manchester United started their European road in the Champions League this season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team finished third in the group behind PSG and Leipzig, so Red Devils had to continue their season in the Europa League. Their first opponent was Real Sociedad, who was effortlessly beaten by Devils with a 4:0 score on aggregate.

The only opponent that caused some problems in the play-offs was Ajax. Romans won an away game (2:1), but in the second leg they suddenly conceded the first goal and were close to elimination, but club from Amsterdam failed to convert it's chances. Game ended with a 1:1 score and Wolves advanced to the semi-finals.

Roma is having a catastrophic season in Serie A - only seventh place in the standings and 11 points behind fourth-placed Juventus, which leave Romans with no chance to get a Champions League spot. After a loss to Cagliari (2:3) in the last game Roma is on a 4-game winless streak.
