Arsenal vs Everton. Predictions and Betting Tips for English Premier League (April 23, 2021).

For the Londoners, the priority right now is the Europa League, where the Gunners have reached the semifinals after their recent victory over Slavia in Prague. In the Premier League, Arsenal have not been seriously regarded as contestants for the title for quite a while. The team has firmly settled in the middle of the table and will struggle to get even sixth or seventh place, given their rivals' class and game quality. But to be fair, Mikel Arteta's team is not so far behind the Top-7: currently occupying ninth place, the Gunners are seven points behind Liverpool, who are seventh. 

On the latest matchday, Arsenal could not beat Fulham at home, having scored an equalizer only on the eighth minute of injury time. As a result, they were tied with a score of 1:1.  draw. In the four previous games, the Gunners had won only once, over the main outsider of the League, Sheffield United (3:0). Also during this rough period, Arsenal drew West Ham (3:3) and suffered a devastating defeat from Liverpool (0:3).

Arsenal are only ninth in the stats of home games this season. They won six out of 15 home matches, lost the same number of times, and were tied in three matches.

There are also serious losses in the Gunners lineup due to injuries. The two key strikers at once are out - Alexander Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The two main defenders are also not going to play - Kieran Tierney and David Luis. Martin Ødegaard's participation is in question.

The Toffees have been on a decline in this last segment of the season. Carlo Ancelotti's team have not been able to win for five League games in a row. After two straight defeats from Chelsea (0:2) and Burnley (1:2), Everton got three draws with Crystal Palace (1:1), Brighton (0:0), and Tottenham (2:2).

Despite losing a significant number of points, the Liverpool club remains in the race for a place in the European club competitions. Everton is now in eighth place in the league standings. Ancelotti's team has 49 points. Everton are six points behind the fourth Chelsea but have one game in hand, unlike all other competitors in higher positions.

Let's note that away Everton plays on a completely different level than at home. Away the Toffees have earned more than 60% of their points in the current season. They have lost only one out of eleven away League games (to Chealsea), drew three times, and won seven times.

Everton also have problems with their lineup due to injuries. Midfielders Abdoulaye Doucouré, Bernard, Fabian Delph, and Jean-Philippe Gbamin, as well as defender Yerry Meena, are all out. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Andre Gomes might also miss the game.
